Do I have to give anyone a copy of my will?
You are entitled to leave just the original of your will in the safekeeping of your attorney, however, the inability to find someone's will is often a problem in the probate court. If there is an individual who is named in your will, who you trust to safe keep the original or a copy of the original, it's advisable that you give them one. It is also sometimes advisable to give each of the people who are entitled to receive a benefit under your will a copy of the will so that they know that they have a gift to expect after your passing.
