Will I still have control over my property if I have a revocable living trust?
With a revocable living trust, if established correctly and your assets have been transferred to it, you will still have control over your assets in the revocable living trust and be able to use those assets in the same manner as you used them before you even established the revocable living trust. This is not so if you are establishing an irrevocable trust for asset protection planning for long-term care needs, so be careful to understand a revocable living trust means you will keep control over your assets, whereas an irrevocable trust is not necessarily the same, because it's for a different purpose of long-term care asset protection planning.
