Does everybody have to worry about estate taxes?
I like to say that estate taxes is also the same as death taxes. Several years ago, even modest wealth individuals could have to worry about the death taxes that may come against their estate after they have passed away. In the State of Florida, we do not have a separate death tax. In most cases, you have to be extremely wealthy in order to have any concern about taxes that may go against your estate after you've passed away. Currently, the estate tax shelter limit is over $5 million. Unless you have a significant amount of wealth in greater than $5 million or above, estate taxes, death taxes that is, is not something that you have to be concerned with.
