What is the difference between a guardian of the person and a guardian of the property?
Guardian of the person is delegated rights for an individual like social decision making, choice of residence, and medical decision making. Similar to a health care surrogate, they take care of the body of the individual who's been placed under guardianship. Guardian of the property on the other hand manages the individuals assets, takes care of their contractual obligations, and seeks out any benefits that they might be entitled to, much like a power of attorney.
